Re: Here's the song list
Okay, I shall begin recording my rendition of the main theme soon. It's still a bit rough in it's structure, so I'm going to have to tab it out and stuff first to arrange it better, and get an idea of what I'm doing for drums, but it's coming along fairly well.
Anyways, cool little forum that's going here, glad to be part of it.

Re: Here's the song list
Howdy howdy howdy! I would like to contribute! Here is my résumé:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jhTHK80A11k
That aside, I would like to do a rearragement of one or two of the following:
Pinkie Pie's Singing Telegram (with frequent meter changes & live rock instruments!)
The Title Theme (in the style of Captain Beefheart!)
Pinkie's Gala Fantasy Song
Pinkie's Buttering Up Song
I prefer the top two, but I don't know the status of availability. Let me know what you think, I just want to help any way I can!
Thanks,
Dex

One that we could always fall back on would be Equestria Girls, which I wouldn't mind working on, but then again, it's already kinda a parody...

I'm sort of doing a punk/White Stripes version of the singing telegram, but the others I have no problem with.

I like it. It's a bit simple, but work out some of the kinks and we have a great track on our hooves.
Now for one of my tracks.

This one is for So Many Wonders. I just need some vocals and it's perfect.

Cool, I'll stay away from that one then.
So do we "claim" tracks? Can I "call" both the Buttering Up & Gala Fantasy? Or is there going to be some sort of "voting" for the best tracks for the album?

Re: Here's the song list
So far we're just choosing what songs we'd be interested in doing. As for buttering up and gala fantasy, sure, you can do those.
Re: Here's the song list
Male vocalist checking in.
Where do you want me?
Slowly progressing through the series at a few episodes a day.
Put me where you need me. I'm pretty much down for
Also... Is there a place I can go to listen to the original songs! Specifically, the "Sonic Rainboom" ones.
[EDIT]
Man, the spoilers work different here. :\

- anything. :
- Giggle at the Ghostie has somehow won a place with me. I'm appalled that I like it, specifically, over the other songs I've heard. Winter Wrap up is another, that just blew me away. If there's space in that, /in.

For mine, go to Sound Cloud and look up Sonic Rainboom. It's still a work in progress, the editing's rough and I'm planning on redoing my guitar parts.
I'd post the link here, but my computer screws up when I visit it.
Re: Here's the song list
Is Sonic Rainboom the BGM from that episode or something? (I've seen it described as "RD's theme song".)
I don't like how the guitars transition-- the first one is a little weird, the others I just don't like. Gotta put 'em together at the end, Dueling or Duet style, brings it all together and closes it up.
Is it timed with the video, or something? Might consider splitting it into two track, otherwise.
Also, Rarity on Piano...? Rarity needs a brand of Heavy/Fast Baroque. I don't know what instruments you have training (or, at least, talent!) in, but I'm damn sure you could whiop something up there.

Curious-- Superponybeat?
I'm all for doing this stuff ourselves, but do we want to focus on a particular type of music, or span the spectrum?

Re: Here's the song list
Yeah, but it's supposed to be a symbolic guitar battle, but I guess a harmony at the end would tie things up nicely.
Re: Here's the song list
Well, not necessarily harmony...
The slow one gets a little bit faster, a lot heavier, RD's starts shredding. Like, "we'll go into Audacity and up the tempo" shredding. Dragonforce?
Instead, it could work if it's just a couple of bars at a time, alternating back and forth.
But what I really want to see is them Overlap and Climax together. They meet at the climax.
TBH, That is not my genre of music, so anything I say will be from the perspective of someone outside of Metal and Rock. (I'm on the Pop side of Rock, and even then...)
Do what makes it work
[EDIT]
There ought to be a rap on one of these with off-vocals...

Re: Here's the song list
Anyone mind if I try an original track for Derpy? I want to try something Zappa-ish, but capturing his style is...daunting, to put it lightly. Also, given the simple lyrics and melody, I was thinking of doing the country Pony Pokie instrumental.
Re: Here's the song list
I don't mind. As for Pony Pokey, I was thinking either country or surf would work for it.Necro wrote:Anyone mind if I try an original track for Derpy? Re: Here's the song list
Surf would probably make more sense then, as I'm not very good at country guitar, but Dick Dale and the Del-tones are one of my favourites.
Re: Here's the song list
Yeah, something Dick Dale inspired would work. I played around with it a bit and it worked extremely well.Necro wrote:Surf would probably make more sense then, as I'm not very good at country guitar, but Dick Dale and the Del-tones are one of my favourites.
Re: Here's the song list
Damn it Rev, you make me feel bad. Even if it's a terrible mix, it's better than I am capable of.
Once I start recording we'll see if I can do something good.

Re: Here's the song list
That's right, but we got plenty of time. This honestly is the hardest part: choosing who'll do what.MikeGallop wrote:Not really but Pickslide said he'd like to get this done before the second season starts.penguindf12 wrote:So is there a particular deadline for this?

Re: Here's the song list
Then it's just a matter of people actually doing parts and such. Shouldn't be too difficult.

Not really. Just the most difficult thing would be collaborating, but even then it's not too bad.Zeta wrote:Then it's just a matter of people actually doing parts and such. Shouldn't be too difficult.
